Frequently Asked Questions

Does GoHighLevel offer a free trial, and do I need a credit card?
Yes. GoHighLevel offers a 14-day free trial on all paid plans, with full feature access. A payment method is generally collected at signup but isn’t charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel beforehand at no cost.
Are there other costs beyond the monthly subscription?
Yes, the subscription covers platform features, but there are usage-based costs for telecommunications and AI. This includes charges for phone numbers, SMS, emails sent, and premium AI usage. For example, email usage is $0.675 per 1,000 emails across all plans, and LC Phone System pricing is precisely the same amount as Twilio. GoHighLevel frames these as standard, industry-wide pay-as-you-go costs rather than hidden fees. On higher plans you can rebill these costs to your clients.
How many contacts and users does GoHighLevel allow?
There are no contact or user caps. On all plans, you get unlimited contacts and unlimited users (team members). This is a notable difference from platforms like HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or Klaviyo, which charge based on contact count. The main structural limit is sub-accounts, not contacts.
What’s the difference between sub-accounts on each plan?
Sub-accounts (locations) are how agencies isolate each client’s data. On the Agency Starter plan, you are limited to 3 sub-accounts. On the Unlimited and Pro plans, you also get unlimited sub-accounts. Each sub-account gets its own isolated environment with dedicated contacts, funnels, workflows, and settings, which is why agencies managing multiple clients typically need Unlimited or Pro
What is SaaS Mode, and which plan do I need for it?
SaaS Mode lets you resell GoHighLevel as your own branded software. SaaS Mode transforms GoHighLevel into your own sellable software product, allowing you to sell subscriptions directly from your website, automatically creating client accounts, and earning recurring revenue by rebilling for SMS, email usage, and other features. It is only available on the top tier; the $97 plan cannot enable SaaS mode, the $297 plan cannot enable SaaS mode; only SaaS Pro unlocks rebilling and SaaS controls
Can I rebill usage costs to my clients and add a markup?
Yes, but the ability depends on your plan. On the Unlimited and Pro plans, you can “rebill” these costs to your clients, often adding a markup to create your own profit. More specifically, rebilling without markup is available on the $297/mo and $497/mo plans, while rebilling with markup is only available on the $497/mo plan as part of SaaS Mode. With markup enabled, HighLevel still charges the agency first, but the sub-account is charged the agency’s marked-up price, and the agency keeps the difference as profit.
Can I white-label GoHighLevel so clients don’t see the brand?
Yes. You can connect custom domains for all your funnels and websites, plus you have the ability to white-label the desktop web app, meaning your clients see your logo and branding when they log in, not HighLevel’s. The desktop white-label is available on Unlimited, while a fully branded mobile app (in the iOS and Android stores under your own name) is a SaaS Pro feature.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan later?
Yes. You can upgrade from Starter to Unlimited (or Pro) as you sign more clients. If you upgrade mid-month, you will only be charged the prorated difference. You can also downgrade if your needs change. This lets you start on the lowest plan that fits and move up as your client base grows.
What can GoHighLevel actually replace in my tool stack?
GoHighLevel is positioned as an all-in-one system covering the full customer lifecycle — all the tools you need to capture, nurture and close new leads into bookings, sales, reviews and repeat customers. In practice that spans CRM, funnels and websites, email and SMS marketing, calendars and booking, workflow automation, reputation management, and a social planner, plus its AI Employee suite. Agencies commonly use it to consolidate separate CRM, funnel, email, scheduling, and reputation tools into one login.
